The Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism reports a successful test of the SailClear Platform in Trinidad and Tobago, calling it a “historic milestone.”

SailClear is an electronic pre-arrival notification system for yachts and pleasure craft in the Caribbean, allowing users to submit customs declarations online to speed up the entry process.

Developed by the Caribbean Customs Law Enforcement Council (CCLEC), it replaces manual paperwork, reducing hours of processing to minutes.

“With the support of key border control agencies, all vessel arrivals were seamlessly processed through SailClear, demonstrating strong inter-agency coordination and system interoperability,” the Ministry of Trade reported.

“This transformative platform reduces processing time from an average of 4 hours to just 15 minutes, significantly improving efficiency, reducing congestion, and enhancing the ease of doing business within the yachting and boating sector.”
