Police are working to identify burnt human remains, which have been discovered in a stony watercourse in Five Rivers, Arouca.
According to a Facebook post, the discovery was made by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Vallence Rambharat, about 500 feet from a reported missing person’s home.
Shortly after, the team also found a fire pit in a nearby ravine.
Police say DNA testing will be used to confirm the identity, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the discovery are ongoing.
