The countdown to Tobagoโ€™s 2026 Heritage Festival is officially underway, with organisers promising a celebration focused on culture and preservation of history.

THA Secretary for Education, Research and Technology, Zorisha Hackett, said at the launch the festival has been more than performances and celebration.

โ€œIt has been a living archive of our people; a place where culture breathes; a place where villages become stages; a place where traditions become lessons; a place where generations meet; connect, and leave with a greater sense of pride,โ€ she said.

โ€œAnd that, my dear Tobagonians, is powerful.โ€

Tobago Heritage Festival 2026 runs from July 1st to August 1st, under the theme โ€œLeh We Tell De Whole Story.โ€

It highlights traditional music, dance, storytelling, and local cuisine to preserve Tobagoโ€™s heritage.

During the Festival, different villages host performances showcasing their unique history and traditions.

Popular events include the Ole Time Tobago Wedding in Moriah, Les Coteaux Folk Tales, and the Salaka Feast.

The festival was first staged in 1986-87, and has become the main event on the Tobago cultural calendar.
