THA Finance Secretary, Petal-Ann Roberts, has presented a proposed $4.12 billion budget for fiscal 2027, under the theme “Results-Based Governance: A Pathway to Prosperity.”
The request represents approximately 6.6% of the projected national budget and comprises $3.03 billion in recurrent expenditure and $1.09 billion in development expenditure.
The presentation marks the first phase of Tobago’s Medium-Term Policy Framework, “Pathway to Prosperity 2026–2030.”
During this morning’s budget presentation, Ms Roberts outlined 10 focus areas for strategic investment in fiscal 2027.
Allocations include $140.7 million for food security and sovereignty to boost agriculture and fisheries and $105.2 million for sustainable tourism, supporting hotel development, heritage sites, and eco-tourism expansion.
Creative industries received $64.5 million, while population growth initiatives are allocated $21.5 million.
