The TCL Group has launched the sixth edition of its Cemex Campus programme, which will cater to its largest cohort yet.
The initiative is geared towards providing developmental opportunities to approximately 150 university students across the region.
A region-wide hybrid launch was held on Tuesday across Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Guyana and The Bahamas.
Speaking during this time was TCL Group Managing Director, Francisco Aguilera, who described the initiative as a gateway to one of the region’s most critical industries.
“Cemex Campus is built to ignite your interest in this vital, dynamic industry – an industry that builds cities, shapes lives, and touches our daily routines,” he said.
He added, “Our goal is for universities to enrich their curricula and for students to gain practical insights, making education more relevant and impactful. Through these partnerships, we not only empower individuals, but also strengthen communities and drive positive change.”
Since its inception in 2021, Cemex Campus has equipped emerging professionals with theoretical and practical exposure to the construction materials and manufacturing industry.
Over the years, it has provided approximately 500 students nearing completion of their academic studies with exposure to the inner workings of a multinational company.
Participants have gained experience in a range of disciplines including supply chain management, social impact, finance, cement operations, sales, distribution, planning and human resource management.
