The surviving five of the six-member crew of the ST VINCENT VII have been taken to a hospital for medical assessment and treatment.
According to the Defence Ministry, the five were retrieved from the MV MARVEL KITE by members of the Vincentian Coast Guard around 10:22pm yesterday.
They were taken to the Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal in St Vincent, and subsequently moved to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Upon their discharge, the Ministry says arrangements have been made for them to be accommodated at the Cobblestone Hotel in Kingstown.
Also, around 11:23pm yesterday, the vessel’s captain, Anthony Murray, was formally pronounced dead.
Mr Murray, a 66-year-old T&T national, began to experience shallow breathing while still on the vessel yesterday.
Though he appeared stable at the time, he reportedly became lifeless within a few hours.
