Two UK barristers have been retained to represent the State in proceedings involving businessman Dominic Hadeed and his wife, Genevieve.
Legal Notices published yesterday confirm that Sir James Raymond Eadie and Robert Stephen Strang have been granted eligibility to appear for the State in the couple’s case against the Police Commissioner.
The Office of the Attorney General says the two barristers were retained as the Government continues to defend the legality of the Preventive Detention Orders.
These were issued under the Emergency Powers Regulations against the Hadeeds, who have been accused of involvement in a conspiracy to assassinate senior Government officials.
The couple remains in custody.
