Former West Indies spinner Samuel Badree was honoured on the weekend, with his home ground in Barrackpore renamed in his honour.
The two-time T20 World Cup winner started his career playing on the ground, which is located at along Rochard-Douglas Road and Cumoto North Trace in Barrackpore.

The former West Indies leg-spinner made it clear that the gesture was not about accolades, but about inspiration.
โThis is not a recognition but a reminder that anything is possible once you believe and work towards your dream,โ he said, offering words that resonate with young athletes across the country.
Former West Indies players Sunil Narine, Evin Lewis, and Jason Mohammed were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on the weekend.
