Vishnu Dhanpaul has replaced Janelle John-Bates on the Joint Select Committee on Public Accounts and Administration.
The switch in PNM Senators was passed without objection during this afternoon’s sitting, after Leader of Government Business Darrell Allahar moved the motion.
The change follows allegations that Ms John-Bates helped former Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh prepare his submission for a recent PAAC sitting.
The Committee subsequently adjourned its inquiry into the State’s acquisition of pharmaceuticals, including processes for importation and approval.
Senator John-Bates was present at this afternoon’s sitting.
