Police have seized a firearm, ammunition and a quantity of dangerous drugs in Diego Martin.
Between 3pm and 8pm yesterday, officers went to a residence at North Post Road, where they found a black metal and plastic object resembing a firearm.
It bore the markings “Glock 19 Gen 5” and was fitted with a magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition, however the serial number had been filed off.
In a separate search of a nearby area, officers also discovered a clear plastic bag containing approximately 7.9 grammes of a transparent, rock-like substance resembling Ecstasy.
A handheld two-way radio transceiver was also seized.
Further searches were conducted at known drug blocks in the River Estate Basketball Court, Mercer Road, Covigne Road and Toyer Street, Patna Village, however no further illegal items were found.
