Police have safely rescued a 43-year-old man who was kidnapped for ransom from his Santa Cruz home early on Friday.
According to reports, the victim and his girlfriend were at their home around 5am when several men entered the premises, abducted the man, and stole their cellular phones before fleeing.
About an hour later, the victimโs sister received a ransom demand by phone.
Officers launched an intelligence-led operation across Santa Cruz, San Juan and Laventille.
During searches in Laventille, officers found the injured victim at an annex behind a secondary school.
He was taken for medical treatment, and investigations are continuing as police work to arrest those responsible.
