Police are investigating the death of 73-year-old Wayne Yip Choy, whose body was found at a Westmoorings apartment complex on Monday.
Officers responded to reports of loud explosions and later discovered the man in a car park with gunshot wounds.
Authorities say the incident is being treated as an apparent suicide.
Investigators recovered a licensed firearm and other items, and are continuing enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death.
