The PNM says actions are being taken to address a growing rift within the San Fernando East Constituency office.

Recently, MP Brian Manning raised concerns about Constituency Executive Chairman Patricia Alexis, and went as far as to call on the party to intervene.

In a statement issued today, the PNM said in July 2026 it received correspondence from both, and appointed an inquiry team to examine the issues raised.

A report has since been submitted.

In the statement, PNM Chairman Marvin Gonzales also called on those involved to “avoid public ventilation of matters that are properly before the General Council”.

He said public exchanges of allegations and counter-allegations will not resolve the issues confronting the San Fernando East constituency, and maintained that the party will not publicly adjudicate allegations concerning members.

“The Leadership and General Council will continue to work with Mr Manning, Mrs Alexis and the members of the San Fernando East Constituency towards a resolution,” said the statement
