Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says Government is moving to restore successor rights for the OWTU at Paria, Guaracara Refining and Heritage Petroleum.
Speaking before Parliament ahead of Labour Day, the Prime Minister said the Miscellaneous Provisions Legislation aims to correct an injustice.
The Bill is currently before Parliament.
Meanwhile, trade unions across the country will gather in Fyzabad tomorrow, to mark Labour Day under the theme, “Advancing the Workers Agenda.”
Activities begin from 5AM, with the Butler Classics road races, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of labour leader Tubal Uriah Butler and other commemorative sites.
Union members will then assemble at Avocat Junction before a march to Charlie King Junction.
A rally featuring addresses from labour leaders, including JTUM President Ancel Roget, is scheduled for the afternoon, followed by a cultural show.
