Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar left for New York last night, to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
While there, she is she is expected to meet with Venezuela’s acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, on the sidelines of the gathering later this week.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar has been accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sean Sobers and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Nicholas Morris.
Works Minister Jearlean John has been appointed Acting Prime Minister during Mrs Persad-Bissessar’s absence.
The Prime Minister is expected to return to T&T on Thursday morning.
