Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has doubled down on her accusation that the PNM planned verbal attacks on her and other UNC persons during African Emancipation celebrations over the weekend.
In another statement shared online this afternoon, she restated her allegation that the plan was to have political supporters use racial slurs against her.
She added however that the plan failed since she did not attend, and speculated that attempts will continue into Independence Day.
Meanwhile, in a statement also shared online, Arouca/Lopinot MP Marvin Gonzales accused the Prime Minister of creating division “to distract from failure”.
He said there continue to questions regarding crime, concerns about unemployment, and calls for accountability from the Minister of Homeland Security and Attorney General.
