Over TT$278,000 worth of testing and treatment supplies have been donated by PAHO/WHO to support patients in T&T with Advanced HIV disease.
The supplies, provided under the Unitaid-funded Advanced HIV Disease Project, will strengthen the health system’s capacity to detect and manage serious infections that significantly affect persons with advanced HIV.
The donation was presented by PAHO/WHO Representative for T&T and the Dutch Caribbean Islands, Dr. Gabriel Vivas Francesconi, who emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment in improving outcomes.
The initiative also encourages countries to incorporate these supplies into routine health systems to ensure continued access at affordable costs.
