The Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization have donated digital immunization support devices to Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Health as part of Vaccination Week in the Americas 2026.
The handover ceremony took place at the Sangre Grande Hospital Campus and included Health Minister Lackram Bodoe, Minister in the Ministry of Health Rishad Seecheran, and Canadian High Commissioner Michael Ryan Callan.
The devices, donated by Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization with support from the Government of Canada, will improve vaccine storage through continuous digital temperature monitoring and real-time mobile alerts.
The event also launched a national Vaccine Preventable Diseases Surveillance Training Programme to strengthen cold chain management and disease detection, including measles surveillance, across regional health authorities.
