Opposition Leader Penelope Beckles-Robinson has voiced strong concern over the Government’s handling of the national crime situation following this weekend’s violent incidents.
In a post on X, she described the Government as “detached, directionless, and dysfunctional,” saying the Prime Minister’s response to crime fell short of the urgency required under the State of Emergency.
Her comments come after what she described as one of the bloodiest weekends in recent times, following several murders of the weekend.
Mrs Beckles-Robinson is questioning whether current strategies are effective, as public concern continues to grow over safety and the direction of the crime fight.
