NIDCO has confirmed that a mechanical problem aboard the MV Galleons Passage caused significant delays for passengers traveling between Port of Spain and Scarborough yesterday.
In a statement, the Company said elevated engine temperatures forced the vessel to reduce its speed to about 11 knots, which is well below its normal cruising speed of 15-19 knots.
Additional delays also were reported at both ferry terminals.
NIDCO says technical assessments are underway and assures that passenger safety remains the top priority
