Moruga Man Granted Bail After Pleading Guilty to Excavator Parts Theft

A 23-year-old Moruga man has been granted $55,000 bail after pleading guilty to stealing parts from an excavator valued at $17,500.

Police say the victim reported that unknown persons removed an excavator turbo, fuel pump, turbo manifold and track from his machine at Maitland Trace, Basse Terre.

Officers later recovered some of the stolen items at La Fortune Trace, Moruga.

The matter has been transferred to the Princes Town District Court and resumes on May 26.
