The Ministry of Tertiary Education is welcoming UWI’s decision not to increase tuition fees at the St Augustine Campus.
That matter was recently decided on by the University Council during a meeting on May 8th.
Minister Professor Prakash Persad is said to have formally advised the University that Government does not support any tuition increase and recommended that no adjustments be implemented without the Government’s expressed support.
He adds that the subsequent decision will ensure tertiary education remains accessible and affordable for students and families.
