The T&T Met Service is forecasting increased rainfall during the first half of July, with at least two tropical waves expected to affect the country.

In its latest Agro-Met update, the TTMS says the heaviest rainfall is expected in southern and eastern Trinidad, with several wet days between July 2nd and 13th.

This is expected to increase the risk of flooding in low-lying areas.

In Tobago, despite the forecast for some rainfall, officials say dry conditions, low soil moisture and an elevated bushfire risk are expected to persist.

The Service also noted that no tropical cyclones are expected to affect T&T during the next seven days.
