There has been a major breakthrough in the killing of a Municipal Police Officer.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says six people are now in custody, including two municipal police officers, in connection with the homicide and theft of firearms at the Kings Wharf compound in San Fernando.
Two men and two women have also been arrested by police.
Acting on intelligence-led operations, officers from the San Fernando CID and Special Branch recovered 22 stolen firearms, including Glock 19 and Smith & Wesson pistols, along with over 600 rounds of ammunition.
Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro says investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to bring all responsible parties to justice.
Acting Corporal Anusha Eversley was killed and a cache of firearms and ammunition was stolen from the police station on Sunday.
