2 in court for taxi-stand attack

Two men have appeared in the Princes Town High Court charged with wounding with intent, following a cutlass attack at a taxi-stand.

On August 7th 2026, the victim was at the San Fernando Taxi Stand in the vicinity of High Street, Princes Town, when he was approached by two suspects.

They attacked him however the man was able to escape on foot.

Following investigations, police arrested 24-year-old Messiah Pope and 28-year-old Sean Rivers.

Neither was called upon to plead when they appeared before Master Chinebass.

Pope was subsequently remanded into custody, while Rivers was granted $85,000 bail, with the matter adjourned to September 30th 2026.
