National striker Kenya Cordner says the Women Soca Warriors will need public support for their World Cup qualifier against El Salvador on Friday.
Trinidad and Tobago needs to win the match to move to the next round of Concacaf qualification and Corder has called for support.
“That support from the public is needed. We need that extra 12th man to push us over that hurdle on Friday,” she told TTFA Media.
“This is very big, bigger than us itself as players because this is for Trinidad and Tobago. Sometimes the public in Trinidad and Tobago tend to not understand how bid this is. The support is always needed,”
Meanwhile, T&T head coach Damian Briggs says the national women’s team is ready for action.
“We’ve selected what we believe is the best possible squad at this time. There are a couple new additions who will bring added depth, along with some experienced players returning to the group. We head into camp this weekend, and it’s a critical period for us, but everyone is in good shape, fit, and ready to get down to business,” Briggs said.
The match kicks off on Friday at 6pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
