China is condemning the United States’ blockade of Iranian ports, calling the move “dangerous and irresponsible.”
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun says the action risks escalating tensions and undermining an already fragile ceasefire, following the collapse of US-Iran talks in Pakistan.
Beijing has also dismissed reports it plans to supply Iran with air defence systems as false.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has warned of steep tariffs on Chinese goods if such support is provided.
