The Media Association of T&T is calling for a full investigation after an apparent firebomb attack on the vehicle of TV6 journalist Elizabeth Williams.
The incident, which happened shortly after 2AM today at her Tobago home, was brought under control after Williams and her daughter safely extinguished the flames before the fire spread.
MATT says there is no evidence at this time linking the attack to Williams’ work as a journalist, but says that possibility cannot be ruled out.
The Association is urging police to carry out a swift and thorough investigation, adding that the incident comes amid growing concerns about the safety of journalists and that any act of violence or intimidation against a journalist is a serious concern.
