Two T&T nationals are among five commissioners appointed to investigate the sinking of Guyana’s MV Barima.
Maritime law specialist Nyree Alfonso and retired Rear Admiral Hayden Pritchard will serve on the independent international commission of enquiry established by Guyana’s Government.
President Dr Irfaan Ali said commission will examine the circumstances surrounding the July 18th sinking, including the vessel’s condition, safety procedures, crew competence, and availability of life-saving equipment.
The death toll from the tragedy has now crossed 70.
