The Government is in discussions with the Tobago House of Assembly on measures to regulate jet-ski operations and improve safety.

This was the Prime Minister’s response to a question from MP Colm Imbert, following the death of 7-year-old Angelica Saydee Jogie.

The little girl was killed after being hit by a jet ski while bathing at the Pigeon Point Heritage Park on April 8th.

Mrs Pesad-Bissessar said while legislation was introduced in 2020, this was not acted upon by the previous administration.

She also extended condolences to the child’s family on behalf of the Government.

The child’s body returned to Trinidad last evening, and her funeral is scheduled for tomorrow at her family’s home in Barrackpore.
