The Labour Ministry has announced the composition of the new Registration Recognition and Certification Board (RRCB).
The Board is responsible for matters relating to the recognition and certification of trade unions.
Labour Minister Leroy Baptiste said the Board is critical in safeguarding the country’s industrial relations climate.
In addition, the Board ensured that both workers and employers operate within a framework of equity, guided by transparency, accountability and mutual respect.
Minister Baptiste said the appointment of the Board also reaffirms Government’s commitment to maintaining a fair, transparent and effective industrial relations system.
“The work of the RRCB sits at a vital intersection where governance directly impacts the lives and livelihoods of our people,” the Minister stated.
New Board chair Sabrina Gomez said the board would be run with “integrity and a focus on the public good.”
