Global Trinidad and Tobago has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the country’s global competitiveness after participating as a Gold Sponsor at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s Annual Business Meeting.

The event, held on April 10 at the Hyatt Regency, brought together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss strategies for national development and economic growth.

In a statement, Global Trinidad and Tobago commended the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce for hosting what it described as a well-organised and impactful forum for dialogue and collaboration.

A major highlight of the meeting was the address delivered by Mohamed Irfaan Ali, who outlined a forward-looking vision for regional economic transformation. His remarks focused on the need for diversification beyond the energy sector, expansion of non-energy exports, improved productivity, and increased foreign direct investment.

The organisation said these priorities align closely with its own strategic objectives, which include expanding export capacity, unlocking new international markets, and positioning Trinidad and Tobago as an investment-ready destination.

Chief Executive Officer Sekou Alleyne also participated in a panel discussion, where he shared insights on enhancing the country’s competitiveness across trade, investment, and the creative industries.

Global Trinidad and Tobago emphasised the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, noting that sustainable economic growth will require coordinated action and a unified national approach.

The organisation added that it looks forward to continued partnership with both public and private sector entities to translate these priorities into measurable outcomes for Trinidad and Tobago.
