Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has confirmed that multiple foreign agencies are now involved in the investigation into an alleged plot to assassinate her and senior Government officials.
According to a Guardian Media report, she said she cannot comment on specific details of the ongoing probe but has been advised that new persons, financial institutions and businesses have been identified.
She added that the matter will take some time, as it has widened beyond the original scope and increased in complexity.
The comments follow the release of Dominic Hadeed and his wife Genevieve, whose Preventive Detention Orders were revoked by the Homeland Security Minister last week.
The Hadeeds have not been charged with any offence, however investigations are ongoing.
