Financial literacy has been described as a “silent superpower”, by Central Bank Governor Larry Howai.

The message came this morning at the National Financial Literacy Programme’s inaugural “FinLit Live 2026” event, aimed at helping students make smart financial decisions.

Mr Howai said consistent saving and investing can help build a secure financial future.

Mr Howai shared some key financial advice to the 1600+ students, from more than 40 schools.

Mr Howai encouraged the students to carry the lessons learnt beyond the classroom and apply them in a practical, thoughtful way to achieve long-term success.
