Finance Minister Dave Tancoo says he is looking forward to “building on relationships” following his recent attendance at the OPEC Fund Development Forum 2026.
This was held in Vienna, Austria on June 23rd under the theme, “A Transition That Empowers Our Tomorrow”.
The event was primarily focused on discussions to advance development impact and strengthen resilience, particularly in vulnerable nations.
This year’s forum also marked a historic milestone, as the OPEC Fund celebrated its Golden Jubilee: 50 years of partnership-based international development cooperation.
Mr Tancoo said, “We are deeply appreciative of the opportunities the Fund creates through initiatives such as this, bringing together partners from across the globe to engage in meaningful dialogue, strengthen collaboration, and explore innovative pathways toward sustainable development.”
Other participants included Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Austria President Dr. Alexander Van der Bellen, as well as International Ministers of Finance and Economic Affairs, along with Leaders of Development Banks and Agencies from around the world.
