Former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has welcomed Trinidad and Tobago’s election to the United Nations Security Council but says the Government’s actions on the international stage will be closely watched during its tenure.
In a social media post, Rowley said he was proud the country would again represent the Caribbean, crediting groundwork laid by his former administration and thanking former minister Amery Browne and diplomatic officials.
However, he cautioned that T&T must be careful in its foreign policy positions, saying citizens will be monitoring how the country votes and represents itself on key global issues during its term.
