Dr Margaret Satya Rose has been sworn in as the newest Opposition Senator in the Upper House, replacing former Senator Janelle John-Bates.
The attorney-at-law, public policy researcher and governance specialist took the Oath of Office at today’s Senate sitting.
According to the PNM, Dr Rose brings more than three decades of experience in law, public procurement, governance and anti-corruption systems.
Opposition Leader Penelope Beckles-Robinsons said her expertise will strengthen the Opposition’s legislative scrutiny and contribution in the Senate.
The party also expressed gratitude to former Senator Janelle John-Bates for her service.
