Workers attached to the Couva Tabaquite Talparo Regional Corporation are currently assisting with clean-up operations at schools across the region.
Corporation Chairman, Ryan Rampersad, says this mandate was passed down to the various corporations by Local Government Minister, Khadijah Ameen.
He shared a video with 103.1FM News, showing workers at the Brazil Secondary School, cutting grass and cleaning up the compound.
He adds that councillors are also in the field, overseeing work at other schools.
Once completed, he says attention will once again return to public spaces, with the Corporation to continue cleaning up areas impacted by illegal dumping.
