Two men are to receive a combined TT$1.25 million in damages after the High Court ruled that a police officer was responsible for sharing photos of them in a police station cell on social media.
Justice Joan Charles awarded each man TT$625,000 after upholding their defamation claims.
The photos, taken at the West End Police Station in 2021, falsely suggested they were caught having sex in public.
The men said the post caused humiliation, family strain, and public ridicule.
