600 cigarettes have been seized at the Port of Spain Prison, after being thrown over the facility’s perimeter wall.
The T&T Prison Service reported that officers from the Emergency Response Unit intercepted a pair of garden boots shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The cigarettes were found concealed inside the boots.
Acting Prisons Commissioner Elvin Scanterbury has reassured that efforts will continue to prevent contraband from entering correctional facilities.
