ATM Robbery Tobago

Police in Tobago are searching for two men in connection with an attempted backhoe robbery at an ATM.

According to reports, three estate constables were on duty at the
YMCA and Beach Sports Facility in Courland, when they were accosted by two masked men who allegedly demanded keys to a yellow Caterpillar backhoe and a white Mazda truck.

The suspects then went to Shelbourne Street in Plymouth, where they used the backhoe to crash into and attempt to pull out the ATM’s vault.

Their efforts proved futile, after the arm of the backhoe was damaged.

The men then fled the scene in the truck, which was later found
abandoned at Adventure Trace.

The TTPS is urging anyone with information on the incident to contact the Shirvan Road Police Station at 639-8888 or 639-1200.
