A post-mortem has found that seven-year-old Angelica Jogie died from multiple traumatic injuries, after being struck by a jet ski at Pigeon Point last week.
According to the T&T Express, her father, who was also injured in the incident, remains hospitalised.
As investigations continue, police say the 32-year-old suspect is still in custody and advice is being sought from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Authorities are now looking at stronger enforcement, as jet skis are already banned within the marine park.
The beach has since reopened, with increased police patrols.
