Through an AMCHAM T&T initiative, local companies are getting the opportunity direct access to potential international financing for major investment projects.
The Chamber hosted a roundtable with officials from the International Development Finance Corporation, the US Government’s private sector development finance agency.
The session connected businesses seeking financing of at least US$5 million with senior DFC officials, giving companies the chance to present potential investment projects directly.
Several companies presented commercially viable projects directly to the DFC, which has since requested additional information for follow-up discussions.
CEO Nirad Tewarie said access to funding of this nature can be catalytic, helping to drive innovation, exports, job creation and long-term economic growth.
