A 30-year-old Maraval woman was granted $95,000 bail for ID card forgery.

Sonnelle Williams, aka ‘Sonnelle Maharaj’, was charged with Forgery, Uttering a Forged Document and Attempting to Obtain the sum of $85,000 by False Pretenses.

These stem from an incident this month, where she went to a commercial bank and attempted to withdraw $85,000 from an account.

The bank teller contacted the Fraud Squad after she became suspicious of the National ID Card presented for the transaction.

The card was subsequently found to be forged.

Williams appeared before Master Abraham on Monday 14th, where she was granted bail and the matter postponed to February 10th, 2027 for a Status Hearing.
