A Barrackpore man has been granted $200,000 bail on charges of attempted murder and possession of ammunition.

The charges stem from an incident on May 9th in Barrackpore, in which a man was allegedly attacked during a dispute.

Police say two rounds of ammunition were later found when the suspect was arrested on June 17th.

Ryan Sambucharan, appearing in the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court, was granted $200,000 bail with surety or a $20,000 cash alternative for attempted murder, and $100,000 bail with surety or a $10,000 cash alternative for possession of ammunition.

Additionally, he must reside at Lengua Village, Barrackpore, report to the Princes Town Police Station once a month, and have no contact with the complainant, staying at least 500 metres away.

The ammunition matter has been adjourned to July 23rd, while the other charges will return to court on December 2nd.
