Two men were held during an Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E exercise early this morning.
Around 2:30am, officers responded to intelligence regarding a white Nissan AD Wagon with two different registration numbers.
The vehicle had crashed into a drain at Balchan Street, in Union Village, Couva and two masked men were reportedly seen fleeing.
Two men matching the descriptions were found and during a search of their person, police recovered keys for the vehicle, a balaclava, and a bandana.
A search of the vehicle also resulted in the discovery of seven rounds of ammunition and an assortment of house-breaking tools.
The overall exercise saw roving roadblocks and mobile patrols in the Area South district, including Carlsen Field, Orange Field Road, Brickfield, Railway Road, and Dow Village, California.
Coastal patrols were also carried out in Carli Bay, Brickfield Village, Orange Valley, and Claxton Bay.
