10 persons were held as the TTPS’ Special Victims Department successfully executed a coordinated anti-crime exercise dubbed “Operation Beacon”.
In Region 1 (Port of Spain/Western/Northern Division), a total of four suspects were held: a 24-year-old man, two 28-year-old men and a 36-year-old man.
Two were subsequently charged with offences including sexual penetration, sexual touching, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
In Region 2 (Central Division), one 32-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with sexual communication and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Region 3 (Southern and South-Western Divisions) recorded three arrests: a 23-year-old man, a 36-year-old man and a 64-year-old man, who were charged with offences such as sexual penetration, sexual touching, and causing or engaging a child in sexual activity.
Meanwhile, in Region 5 (Eastern Division), a 26-year-old man and a 38-year-old man were arrested and charged for sexual penetration.
