WASA has deployed two water trucks and repair crews to Castara, following protests this morning over ongoing water shortages.
Videos on social media show fires and roadblocks, as residents claim they have been without a consistent pipe-borne supply for more than a month.
WASA says leak repairs are underway in Castara and nearby Parlatuvier, while mechanical problems at the Bloody Bay system continue to impact supply.
The Authority adds that customers in high-elevation areas have faced disruptions due to multiple leaks and equipment issues, but restoration is expected by early Thursday morning.
The established supply schedule for these areas is as follows:
- Castara Housing Scheme (High Points): Sunday through Wednesday and Saturday, from 6PM to 6AM
- Parlatuvier (High Points): Daily-scheduled distribution, subject to system capacity.
