As the 2026 Turtle Nesting Season draws to an end, visitors to Matura Beach are being advised that sightings have become less frequent.
Conservation officials at Nature Seekers say there has been a significant decline in the number of nesting turtles and hatchlings seen in recent weeks.
While sightings are still possible, visitors are being cautioned that they cannot be guaranteed.
The update is intended to help persons planning a visit to Matura Beach manage their expectations, while continuing to support turtle conservation efforts.
The turtle nesting season will officially end on August 31st.
