NGC has signed an agreement with bpTT to acquire a 20% participating interest in the Manakin Field, a move aimed at strengthening T&T’s future energy security.
The Manakin Field is part of the Manakin-Cocuina cross-border natural gas reserve, which straddles the maritime boundary between T&T and Venezuela.
NGC already holds a 20% interest in the Cocuina licence on the Venezuelan side and says the new acquisition will align its stake across the unitised field.
NGC Chairman Gerald Ramdeen says the deal will help strengthen domestic gas supplies, expand the company’s involvement in upstream energy production, and support the country’s wider energy sector.
